What is Special Immigrant Juvenile Status “SIJS”?

Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, or SIJS, is a way to become a legal permanent resident if you have been abused, abandoned, or neglected by a parent.

You could be eligible if you:

·       Are under 21 and unmarried

·       Have a case in dependency or delinquency court, or have or could have a case in family or probate (guardianship) court (for example, if you might need a legal guardian)

·       Have been abused, abandoned, or neglected by a parent

What does SIJS provide?

·       Permission to remain in the United States

·       Eligibility for a work permit

·       Eligibility for a green card

You have to apply before you turn 21, so make sure to get screened right away to find out if you could be eligible.  Call us today at 213-316-8690 for a phone consultation.
